Here is a picture of the civilian and military crew of the engine buildup
shop around 1957/58.  The second picture is of the portable engine test
stand that we used to check out newly built-up units for the 53rd Weather Sqdn.  We would attach a 5 ton tractor to the flatbed for turning into the wind and for brakes.  Perhaps someone might be able to recognize an old friend.

 Ed Floyd - Special Orders

Look what I dug out of my old records.  Do you recognize anyone (other than yourself) on these orders? Ed

George Slobom

It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of George Slobom.  George was a very active member of the Association.  With his wife Joan he gave every Sunday afternoon to manning the Heritage Centre and supported the Association with many other activities.  George will be sadly missed.

John Grudge: You may recall an article in the BT about John Grudge who set up an amateur radio station on the base.  Unfortunately we have been unable to trace John but came across the picture above.  It depicts Dave Earnest (K7JJ) operating the radio station G3HPL in the 1950's.
